About Las Vegas Strip

The Las Vegas Strip is a 4.2-mile stretch of Las Vegas Boulevard South — technically in unincorporated Paradise, NV, not the City of Las Vegas — running from Sahara Avenue at the north end (the STRAT) down past the Sphere, Wynn, Caesars Palace, Bellagio, Cosmopolitan, Aria, MGM Grand, NYNY, and finishing at Mandalay Bay/Luxor. 15 of the world's 25 largest hotels by room count sit on this corridor. A 12–15 passenger van is the single best transportation play on the Strip: rideshare surge multipliers on F1 weekends, fight nights, and EDC topouts make a private van pay for itself in one round trip. Plus you skip the 30+ minute taxi line at MGM Grand after a Sphere show.

Why it's worth the drive

Things to do

What groups actually do at The Strip

Bellagio Fountains

1,200 jets shoot to 460 ft, set to music. Best viewing from Bellagio's lakeside walkway, the Cosmopolitan's third-floor balcony, or the Eiffel Tower at Paris.

Sphere show

U2:UV (sometimes returns), Eagles, Dead & Co., or Postcard from Earth (the daytime, $69-ish experience) — book weeks ahead.

Strip walking tour at night

Walk from the Cosmopolitan north to Wynn — it's the densest, best-lit mile, with the Fountains, the Forum Shops, and the LINQ Promenade.

High Roller observation wheel

550 ft, 30-min rotation, at the back of the LINQ Promenade — open-bar pods are the locals' favorite.

Resort buffet or steakhouse

Wicked Spoon (Cosmo), Bacchanal (Caesars), or any of the four CUT / SW / Carbone steakhouses — Carbone reservations open 30 days out at 5 AM PT.

Fountains of Bellagio + Eiffel Tower view

The Eiffel Tower Experience at Paris (entry ticket) is the best paid Bellagio Fountains view. The Cosmopolitan's terrace is the best free one.

Group + van tips

Driving a 12-15 passenger van to The Strip

  • Every major Strip resort accepts a 15-passenger Sprinter / Transit at its main porte cochère — but the valet won't take it; you self-park in the garage.
  • Self-park in resort garages: Wynn, Venetian, Aria, and Resorts World are still free; most MGM properties (Bellagio, ARIA-adjacent garages excluded, Cosmo, MGM Grand) and most Caesars properties charge $18–25 daily for non-locals.
  • Sphere show nights — leave the van at YOUR hotel and walk + rideshare ONE WAY in; pickup queue after a Sphere show is brutal but a pre-arranged van pickup at Venetian's Sands Ave entrance is the cleanest.
  • F1 weekend (mid-November) and EDC week (May) — pre-book parking everywhere; many resorts close streetside drop-off and route everything through their parking structure.

Resort self-park garages all fit 15-passenger Sprinters and Ford Transits. Wynn, Venetian, and Resorts World are still free.

When to go

Best time to visit

March–May and September–November have the best weather (70s–80s) and lighter crowds. Avoid F1 weekend (mid-November), Super Bowl week (early February), and CES (early January) unless you're there for the event — hotel rates triple and traffic on the Strip stops. July and August daytime highs hit 105–115°F; pool season is great, walking the Strip outdoors is brutal.

Need a van for the trip?

Our Las Vegas fleet of 12-15 passenger Sprinters and Ford Transits delivers to Harry Reid International (LAS), every major Strip resort, and downtown / Fremont hotel doors.

The Strip FAQ

Is the Las Vegas Strip in the city of Las Vegas?

No — most of the Strip is in unincorporated Paradise, NV. The City of Las Vegas starts north of Sahara Avenue and includes Fremont Street downtown.

Where can I park a 15-passenger van on the Strip?

Every major resort's self-park garage accepts a Sprinter / Transit. Wynn, Venetian / Palazzo, and Resorts World are still free. Most MGM and Caesars properties charge $18–25/day for non-hotel-guest non-locals.

Is the Bellagio Fountains show free?

Yes — the Fountains run every 15 min from 8 PM to midnight (every 30 min earlier in the afternoon), free to watch from the Strip-side walkway. The Cosmopolitan's terrace and the Eiffel Tower at Paris are the elevated viewing spots.

Do I need tickets for the Sphere?

Yes — every Sphere event (concerts and Postcard from Earth) is ticketed. Postcard from Earth is the cheapest entry and runs multiple daily showings; book directly at thesphere.com.
