About Hollywood Walk of Fame
The Hollywood Walk of Fame stretches 1.3 miles along Hollywood Boulevard and 0.4 miles on Vine Street, with 2,700+ five-pointed pink terrazzo stars honoring the entertainment industry's biggest names. It anchors the original Hollywood neighborhood — the TCL Chinese Theatre's forecourt handprints, the Dolby Theatre (home of the Academy Awards), the El Capitan, and the Egyptian Theatre are all within a 4-block walk. It's about 8 miles and 20–30 minutes north of downtown LA, easiest to park at Hollywood & Highland and walk both directions.
Why it's worth the drive
- 2,700+ stars (and counting — new ceremonies happen most months at the official Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony stage).
- TCL Chinese Theatre's forecourt — handprints, footprints, and (for a few) horse-hoof prints of 200+ stars, free to view.
- Dolby Theatre — home of the Academy Awards; guided tours run daily except on Oscar week.
- Anchored by the Hollywood & Highland complex (now 'Ovation Hollywood') — restaurants, shops, and the photogenic Hollywood Sign view through the Babylon Court arch.

Group + van tips
Driving a 12-15 passenger van to Walk of Fame
- Park in the Ovation Hollywood / Hollywood & Highland garage — accepts standard Sprinter / Transit heights and validates with most restaurant purchases for cheaper rates.
- Avoid street parking — meters along Hollywood Blvd are 1-hour max with strict enforcement.
- The block of Hollywood Blvd between Highland and La Brea has the highest density of original-era stars (Marilyn, Sinatra, Bogart) — walk west from Highland.
- Hollywood Blvd has periodic costumed-character touts — agree on price before any photo if you tip.
Ovation Hollywood (formerly Hollywood & Highland) is the easiest paid garage for a 12-15 passenger van — standard clearance, central to everything.
When to go
Best time to visit
Late morning through afternoon for the busiest, most-photogenic energy. Evenings are quieter and easier to photograph the stars without crowds. Avoid Oscar week (late Feb / early March) — multiple blocks close for staging starting 5 days before the ceremony.
Need a van for the trip?
Our LA fleet of 12-15 passenger Sprinters and Ford Transits delivers to LAX, Burbank (BUR), Long Beach (LGB), and Hollywood / DTLA hotel doors.

Walk of Fame FAQ
How do I find a specific star on the Walk of Fame?
Use the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce's official Star Finder (walkoffame.com/star-finder). It returns the exact block and nearest cross street — much faster than walking the full 1.3 miles.
Is the TCL Chinese Theatre forecourt free?
Yes — the famous handprint and footprint courtyard is free to walk through whenever the theatre is open. You only pay for movies, the IMAX, or the official VIP tour.
Where's the best place to park a 15-passenger van?
The Ovation Hollywood (formerly Hollywood & Highland) garage at Hollywood Blvd & Highland Ave is the easiest — standard clearance, validation discounts, and it's central to the densest cluster of stars.
Is the Walk of Fame safe at night?
The blocks between La Brea and Cahuenga are heavily trafficked and well-lit until at least 11 PM. Standard big-city precautions apply after midnight — keep the group together and use the garage, not street parking.
